Frequently asked questions

Why is my video quiet on YouTube?

Your export may have loud peaks but a low average loudness. YouTube can turn loud videos down, but it does not reliably turn quiet videos up, so a quiet mix can stay quiet after upload.

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. TubeTune processes the file locally in your browser. It is not sent to TubeTune or stored on a server.

What does −14 LUFS mean?

LUFS measures perceived average loudness over time. Around −14 LUFS is a common target for YouTube playback—not a rule, but a useful reference point.

Is TubeTune free?

Yes. TubeTune’s loudness fixer, caption tool, and audio extractor are free to use.

Your file stays local

Analysis and normalization run on your device. Nothing is uploaded.

Video stays clear

Loudness fixes copy the picture unchanged. Baking captions rebuilds the picture with the text embedded.

Large files take time

Privacy Policy

Your files stay on your device

TubeTune runs entirely in your browser. Files you choose are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded or sent to a TubeTune server.

No accounts or personal data collection

TubeTune does not require an account. The app itself does not collect, store, or sell your personal information or a history of the files you process.

Future advertising

TubeTune may add third-party advertising through Google AdSense in the future. If ads are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show, measure, and personalize ads. Their collection and use of data would be governed by their own privacy policies and consent choices presented to you.

TubeTune does not currently use Google AdSense.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to use every audio or video file you process with TubeTune.

Loudness results

TubeTune aims for the targets shown in the app, but specific loudness results are not guaranteed. Results can vary with the source file, format, browser, device, and playback platform. Check the finished file before publishing it.
